Dr. Fahim has been recognized by his physician peers as a “Top Doc” in Hour Detroit Magazine every year since 2014. In addition, Dr. Fahim has been ranked as one of Top 150 Spine Surgeons in the country by Newsweek ever since they began calculating such rankings in 2024.  He has won numerous awards for his ground breaking research in neurosurgery.  All of these accolades are a continuation of the excellence that he has always pursued and achieved, graduating with Honors from Princeton University and the University of Michigan Medical School.

Research Highlights:

Dr. Fahim is an award-winning researcher who has published over forty peer-reviewed articles in the world’s leading neurosurgical journals.  Three of his articles have even been featured on the cover of the Journal of Neurosurgery.  He has served as the Principal Investigator for randomized-controlled FDA trials.  Dr. Fahim pioneered and was the first to describe several surgical techniques for complex spine surgery and reconstruction.  His research focuses on improving outcomes and reducing complications.  He serves as a reviewer for multiple neurosurgery journals and is serves on the Intech Open Editorial Board for Neuro-oncology and the Journal of Clinical Medicine.  He has presented his research in over fifty cities in more than a dozen countries spanning five continents.

Teaching:

Dr. Fahim was promoted to the rank of Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in 2022.  He has taught thousands of medical students and trained dozens of neurosurgeons who take care of patients all over the country and in the mission field.  He has taught and served as a moderator at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Minimally Invasive Neurosurgical Society, the Michigan Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the European Association of Neurological Surgeons.  However, as far as Dr. Fahim is concerned, the most important teaching he does is helping his patients understand what is causing their problem and how it can be treated.
